Estee’s Journey
I’ve been married to my wonderful husband since 2011 but we have been together since 2003! My husband and I actually went to the same high school but we did not know each other. I’ve often wondered if I ever had the chance, I would have wanted to see all the moments we passed each other in the hallway. Weird how things work out!
We have three wonderful children: Johnathan, Brayden, and Raylen. My husband is an entrepreneur and has his hands in everything, from his own travel agency (which I help him run), a fitness gym, a regular full-time job as well as a ton of investment business he is a part of. We love to travel which goes hand in hand with experiencing new cuisines. Additionally, as tax season freelancers, we understand the importance of balancing work and family time while managing various business endeavors.
After high school, I really didn’t have an idea what direction I wanted to take my career. I have been very lucky to have great friends in my life that have helped propel me into the radio/entertainment industry. I’ve worked for great companies like Clear Channel Radio, Cox Radio, Univision Radio, ThinkLatino! and H&M Communications. Promotions & Marketing was definitely my niche… but cooking has always been my passion!
I have loved food for as long as I can remember eating. My parents taught me at a very young age to experience all different types of cultures foods. I think those experiences are what cultivated my desire to be a chef. I attended the Art Institute of Houston to study culinary arts but I was not able to finish. I do plan on going back very soon in hopes to finally get my degree, which is a huge accomplishment!
With this blog, I hope to document my journey trying to attain my culinary degree as well as travel with me while I try new foods/dishes. Everyone experiences food differently so please feel free to comment on my post so I can try to see food through your eyes.
